Salsa Branding Poll
I was hired to create a brand for a Salsa that is absolutly delicious. The salsa is very fresh and crisp and you really cannot stop eating it once you start. I am in need of some help though… Of the above salsa logos and names which one would yo be more likely to buy? Does the name “Salsa’Holic” make you any less likely to purchase this salsa? Any feedback is wanted and welcome.

Ok, so I started to write a comment and then I clicked on another link and the whole thing went away. Not sure it posted or not. I like both of the Serenatas. I think I like the red one though, it's more "salsa" looking to me. I really like the Salsa Holic one though. Very "rich" looking, my vote is that one.
I actually advocate the blue/green version of the serenata. I find it a lot more visually enticing and it blends well with the red sun flare effect. The red, to me, seems like a default assumption with salsa and the green is much more warm and inviting. But of course, this is all just personal preference.

For me it's no contest – Salsa'Holic is a catchy, tongue-in-cheek name that lends itself to a wide range of fun branding and advertising possibilities. It's also the most descriptive which, for a smaller company, I think is very important. You don't want to spend your marketing money trying to teach people what your name means – Salsa'Holic says it all…. If the client can afford TV or radio, I'd embrace the concept and run a campaign that is sure to be remembered – and talked about – "My name is Randy, and I'm a Salsa'Holic"
Absolutely the Salsa'Holic version! It does explain the product intrinsically and it is a name that you are sure to remember. I was confused by the rose/goblet on the logo, but I also don't know anything about the company. I agree that red is basically ubiquitous for salsa brands, so none of them really stand out.
I actually like the teal Serenata one the best and the maroon Serenata second best. The teal reminds me of native Latino culture and would stand out on the shelves as opposed to the maroon which would likely blend in since a lot of major salsa brands have red packaging. The name also sounds authentic latino.
Salsa Holic – Initially I think it may make some people second guess it. You may want to add "authentic fresh salsa" or something of that nature but I like the uniqueness and the design of this one.
I think for branding that "serenata" is a better name. It is easy to say and remember. The design can take on different colors for each temperature(Mild, Medium, and Hot). The slogan could incorparate the Salsa Holic. Something like "Serenta the only salsa for the true Salsa Holic."
I like the name Salsa' Holic a lot (and the tag line), but I'm not in love with the logo design. If I'm seeing it correctly, it looks to be a highly stylized Margarita glass?
In my opinion, the name lends itself to something a little more brash, fun, goofy, loud, etc.

like the name Salsa’Holic. It has a good ring to it. I would want to buy it if it’s as good as you say it is. But as a logo as a whole I like the logo on the maroon background. The Sun part is really cool and feels like it has a mexican influence. I like the font that was used with the logo on the red background it makes me think of Salsa. I would like to see maybe the sun and the name salsa Holic in that font that was used on the Red background.
I like the name Salsa'Holic. I did not see that the logo was an upside down tomato until Cassandra pointed that out. Now that I see it I like it!
I like the name Salsa'Holic. Serenata sounds like the word "serene"…more like a massage clinic than a salsa.
I agree with the previous poster who said the upside down tomato looks like a margarita glass. It's fun but it's hard to "see" the tomato. The sun logo for Serenata is good. And I like the red color. If you're using clear jars, the red label will look better against the salsa then the blue will.
I agree with Randy above, except that this country has become so Politically correct that i am wondering if AA persons will be offended. I do think that the marketing for Salsa' Holic
has more potential for creativity.
Although the "Salsa-holic" idea is cute, I am afraid that their might be some negative connotations because of the perceived negative connection to alcoholics. The name "serenata" doesn't really describe the product. Could you design something that relates to the "fresh" idea like a girl chili pepper that is a little "saucy" which would play on both ideas — fresh and salsa. Just an idea…perhaps she could even have a name like "Saucolita" — dumb but a start. :>)
I like SalaHolic the best as well. It's catchy and the other names mean nothing as they are not branded.
I agree with the comment above about the "serenata" name doesn't describe the product. I think going "saucy" is more enticing (maybe adding some part of the ingredients as well?). Salsa'Holic doesn't make me want to buy salsa it makes me think of "Confessions of a Shopaholic" movie.
Sorry, I know that has nothing to do with food, it must be the sound of S and the holic part. It is catchy, but for me, doesn't do the trick. As for the colors, I would lean towards the blue as it has more contrast when up against salsa. The red would blend in with the salsa and the green reminds me a bit of Christmas (I also agree with the comment about the tomato). Good luck on finding the right combination!
I like the Salsa-holic logo!
I love the salsa-holic name! It's a very clear idea and very memorable and fun. But, I think there should be a different picture. The serenata ones don't say "food" (or fun) to me. I think that logo could be on the back of a pair of jeans, or anything else.

I am a fan of the "Salsa' Holic". I think it is fun and catchy. The design and name is memorable (what we want right?!). I will remember that name a week from now. I also think it will stand out to the consumer next to other salsa logos and brands. Good luck:)
I tried to post. I'm not sure it worked. I like Salsa Holic the best followed by the red Seranata. I like how the upside down tomato also looks like a margarita (to me, at least). The brand seems fiery and fun!
I like the look of both brands! Of the two brands I would be most likely to purchase the Salsa Holic label on impulse. I like the overall feel of the Serenata brand better but I don't think I would purchase that brand on impulse.
Definitely Salsa-Holic. Like others have said it's memorable and immediately tells the consumer what it is. Sereneta does not. Being a small start-up every marketing dollar counts and it would take a lot longer to educate the public on what exactly Sereneta is. I think a different logo would be good though. Not sure the upside down tomato (which I didn't realize that's what it was until it was explained) goes with "Salsa-Holic". Maybe have a tipsy guy with a sombrero on as the logo. Kidding.
I like the salsa holic, it is more attention grabbing and since salsa tends to be more festive I think it fits better. The Serenata ones make me think of a hotels. I don't know why but they do. Maybe because in my head Ramada and Serenata sound similar and the sun makes me think of getting up early. Not something I want to do after a bottle of tequila and a ton of chips and salsa.
I love the Salsaholic logo. Very catchy. I was able to discern it was a tomato by the leaves – but maybe if the tomato was more red it would be more recognizable – but still have the glass shape. I would buy this label because the black background is unique and striking. The black makes all the other colors brighter and more inviting to purchase.
I love the Salsa Holic. Andrea is my sister in law and everything she makes is awesome. She is the BOMB, as her neice would say!

The Salsa' holic label is fantastic. The name seems just a little cheesey to me. This may sound a little weird, but if I tell someone about this great new salsa I bought, I may feel a little silly saying "It's called Salsa Holic". Serenata seems more likely to be a brand name that can belong to the product in the long run. I agree with the poster above who said that the blue label might stand out more among other salsas.
